Long flights are the worst!! I swear I can feel time slowing down when I board a plane. I've tried just about everything to pass the time, so here are a list of things I do to make long flights bearable. Books. This one is a given, but if you're traveling somewhere new, reading travel books about your destination is a fun way to pass the time! iPad/Amazon Fire Tablets. Games, movies, books, you name it, it's these devices have it all. Get up and stretch! This helps break up the flight for me. I try to get up once a hour and just walk to the bathroom and back. Sleep. Pack a scarf or sweater that you can turn into a pillow and sleep. I've bought a million neck pillows and haven't found one I like as much as a scarf. Bring a water bottle. I get thirsty when I fly. If you bring an empty water bottle through security, the flight attendants will fill it up for you on the plane. The cups they give you are too small! Bring socks. Texas Bound
It has been an insaneweek in my house (or houses). Our last week in Chicago was filled with amazing going away parties, family time, George's graduation and a surprise visit from his Aunt from Greece! We are so beyond grateful for all of the love and support people have shown us. I swear you would think that we were moving across the country instead of a few states away. Needless to say the people in our lives are wonderful. Starting with Katie & Dave for throwing this gorgeous Texas themed party. To George's parents throwing us a beautiful backyard barbecue. Anyone who lives in Chicago knows you have to leave by then to avoid major rush hour traffic, and in my case a 14 hour drive with a very upset husband who hates traffic. Initially I had wanted to share a post about our drive down and the fun things we did, but I didn't realize the only … [Read more...]
Top 5 Reasons to Plan a Cruise!
I love cruise vacations! They've gotten a bad rep the last few years (just google "Poop Cruise 2013" if you aren't sure what I'm talking about...), but I've been on plenty and have always had a great time! If you're still hesitant, see my list below for all the reasons why you should give cruising another shot! 1. They are easy! Once you're on board, you're done having to worry about traveling until you have to get off the ship and go home. That's a huge perk considering airport lines seem to be multiplying by the day. 2. You get a chance to travel to multiple locations without ever having to leave your cabin! For the most part the ship will sail over night, so you are free to explore your destination during the day, hop back on the ship around dinner time, and while you slumber you're traveling to your next location! How great is that?!? I went on one cruise where I got to check off 6 new countries from my bucket list! 3. If you're a little uneasy about staying in … [Read more...]
Dallas Bound
I'm pretty sure everyone is very aware of the slip on sneaker trend. I recently bought the Steve Madden quilted pair to "jet set" to Dallas for the weekend. They are beyond comfortable and super cute. I tend to opt for plainer items that I can wear with more outfits, but there are so many ways to spice this trend up! Shop some extra fancy styles below! … [Read more...]
