Chunky winter sweaters are key for the cold Chicago January and February. I bought this one for my trip to Vail (in march), but could not help myself and decided to wear it early. I have a huge problem that I am an over planner. My husband and I decided to ski in Vail this march and I have already booked multiple dinner reservations (depending on our mood that night) and planned all of my outfits. You need time for the new things to ship right?! I particularly love this sweater because of the amazing raspberry color. Its so beautiful and compliments my pale winter skin very well. The sleeve detail makes it so much more functional because typically my baggy sweater sleeves fall past my hands and get caught on my jewelry. My sweater rule is usually high neck and shorter so you can see your hips or long with a deeper neck. This way I avoid making myself look heavier than I am. New Favorite Sweater
This sweater is perfect. It's warm and chunky but also short so you don't lose your body shape wearing it. Gray goes with everything and if you opt to wear it on Christmas (as I did) you won't feel stuffed over indulging in cookies. Under the Cardigan
This outfit may look familiar. It's the outfit I wore under my fabulous Good Night Macaroon Cardigan Cape. I wanted to give you a peak of the turtleneck on its own. It has a great detail in the fabric and while it's a great layering piece it also stands really well on its own! Check out the links to buy it in our Copying Katie post! … [Read more...]
Copying Katie
One of the best things about working on this blog with a friend is that I pay much closer attention to her wardrobe...and then copy it. Katie has such a great sense of style and when I saw her wear that amazing cape I had to have one! Burberry was a little out of my price range so I opted for this Good Night Macaroon option. Its gorgeous, warm and goes with everything. My favorite place to do a cape is at work. Its the perfect layering piece for the sometimes steaming hot other times freezing cold office. Last weekend in the 50 degree Chicago weather I even wore it for my coat! Since I own so many black basics I paired it with an all black outfit, but it works well with grays (the boots), blues and whites too.
