Holiday parties are so tricky to maneuver. For office parties you have to balance being office appropriate while still showing your holiday spirits. Family parties usually require something trendy, but also a little stretchy for all of those family favorite treats. Last but not least friend gatherings and happy hours are the best place to go all out with your trendy and more risque holiday attire. Here are a few of my favorite options for each type of holiday party.
The Office. Its pretty easy to throw on a typical red shirt and your every day pencil skirt and call that dressed up for the office party, but this is also your chance to be a little more exciting and shoe your coworkers more of your personality. I think a fun dress is the perfect option to remain appropriate while showing off your party side. The Topshop Lace & Velvet Dress has some great detail that you wouldn’t typically wear to the office and shows a tiny bit more skin without being overly risque. Eliza J Fit & Flare is a classic option when you don’t want to get too far out of your comfort zone. It also comes in seven different colors to fit the Christmas theme or be an all seasons item. My favorite option is the Dress the Population Gwen Midi red dress because it has a great back detail and is so classy for an evening event.
The Family Party. My family parties tend to be a little more casual and I like to play up my funkier side when I pick an option. After all, they are family and are not supposed to judge. I also like to be comfortable because we start the night with a lot of food and end it sitting on the ground playing games. I love this outfit because its comfortable, while still being trendy. The burgundy sandal makes it a little more festive and you can add any jewelry you want to spice it up. Vince Crepe Lounge Pant | Lovers + Friends Sweater | Halogen Strappy Sandal
The Happy Hour.My favorite thing to dress up for is celebrating the holidays with friends! You can go over the top with your look and have so much fun. This Adelyn Rae Jumpsuit and Amuse Society Faux Fur Jacket is perfect for a night out. The jumpsuit can be worn year round and the jacket adds such a fun flare. If you want to go for a dress I think this is the perfect time to pull out your short mini and why not add sequins. You can get a great all over sequin dress at Topshop for under $100. The best part about sequins you don’t need to go overboard on accessories. Even more, you probably want to play down mostof them with a subtle matching shoe (Steve Madden Satire) and handbag (Rebecca Minkoff Love Leather Crossbody). If you want to take it to the extreme add a plunging neckline. This Nightcap Lace Bodysuit can be paired with Missguided Wide Trousers or BCBG Faux Leather Pencil Skirt.
What will you wear?
