The very best way to spice up old outfits is to add a current accessory. It can be a trendy hat, piece of jewelry or bag. In my case I went with a belt and faux leather backpack. Each of my pieces are "old" from last season but the belt and backpack make the look much more Fall 2016. In addition to being extra trendy I love having a backpack. It is the easiest way for me to carry everything I need and my 27 pound, 9-month-old. He’s so big and squirmy that day to day a normal purse just does not work. I love this backpack because it has buttons that snap to keep its shape even when you fill it to the brim. My only issue with the belt that I purchased is the buckles don’t fit through jean loops. It’s meant to be a waist belt that just happens to fit my hips (goals!) and because of that it wasn’t made to go into pants. Leather Jacket
Leather jackets are a must have fall item. You can dress them up or down and they always go with chambray. My jacket has a special High Heel Hydrangeas meaning behind it because it was one of my first shopping excursions with Katie. She had just moved up to Chicago and we went shopping on Michigan Avenue where she wanted to take me to this really cool store that she had been to with her mom the weekend before (we shop a lot okay?). All she could remember were the sewing machines in the window and so we went off on a mission to find the largest All Saints I have ever been in, and my first (definitely not last) time in one. We spent about 2 hours combing through the store in love with every item we picked up and appalled at the price of real leather. Katie even bought an amazing dress that I will force her to post after this.
