I was a bit late to the off-the-shoulder trend this summer, but now I can't get enough of it, and I've carried it into the fall! I love this Goodnight Macaroon off-the-shoulder striped shirt! It's so flirty and fun. This shirt kind of gives me a 70's vibe, so I played that up by adding bell bottomed jeans to my look. I really like the cuffs of the sleeves too. There is a big metallic button on each cuff that adds a modern touch to a retro-feeling shirt. Burberry Cape
So I told my mom about this absolutely fabulous cape last year hoping she would remember her favorite daughter the next time she went to Bloomingdales....Turns out she only remembered the cape....BUT the good news is, she generally lets me borrow her things when I'm home. I was home this past weekend and noticed that the beloved cape was in my bedroom closet, instead of hers I thought perhaps she had changed her mind about giving me the cape! No such luck....she simply ran out of room in her closet. BUT I did get to wear it when I was home when we went to dinner. It was a hit! I got loads of compliments, and it was so warm! I paired it with a sleeveless black turtleneck, dark skinny jeans, black booties, and a black floppy hat. This is my new favorite outfit!! Baking Blunders
Well known fact. I cannot bake or cook. With a degree in engineering you think I would be able measure some flour and and follow simple instructions but I have quite the way of ruining a recipe no matter what I do. My sister and I attempted to make Caramel Apple Snicker Doodles. We Found a perfect recipe and I had a partner in crime. Perfect. Not. First problem - we could not find the apple cider mix required for the recipe. Oh well we will just make Caramel Snicker Doodles. Problem one solved! The recipe we decided to use can be found on Mother Thyme. Mistake number 2. I opted to use Truvia instead of sugar. Did it ruin the cookies? Probably because it has no calories and sugar is better than everything. Just kidding...maybe? First we mixed all of the dry ingredients. Yes if you are reading the recipe you found mistake number 3.
