Long flights are the worst!! I swear I can feel time slowing down when I board a plane. I've tried just about everything to pass the time, so here are a list of things I do to make long flights bearable. Books. This one is a given, but if you're traveling somewhere new, reading travel books about your destination is a fun way to pass the time! iPad/Amazon Fire Tablets. Games, movies, books, you name it, it's these devices have it all. Get up and stretch! This helps break up the flight for me. I try to get up once a hour and just walk to the bathroom and back. Sleep. Pack a scarf or sweater that you can turn into a pillow and sleep. I've bought a million neck pillows and haven't found one I like as much as a scarf. Bring a water bottle. I get thirsty when I fly. If you bring an empty water bottle through security, the flight attendants will fill it up for you on the plane. The cups they give you are too small! Bring socks. In the summer, my mom always brings … [Read more...]

5 Tips to Finding the Perfect Bridesmaid Dress
I get it, bridesmaid dresses, in general, suck. Shopping for them isn't fun when you're the bride because you are constantly trying to consider all of your bridesmaids' tastes and body shapes. It's stressful. You don't want to put anyone in a dress they hate, but at the same time, it's your day and all of your bridesmaids agreed to stand up there with you! Here are a few tips I used when I was trying to navigate the tricky waters of bridesmaid dresses. Try not to pick a God-awful color. I'm sure you won't get everyone to agree on a color, but at least your bridesmaids can feel like they are working with a considerate … [Read more...]
Backyard Barbecue Love
I have been in Dallas just over a month and am so sad to say I haven't explored very much yet. I went home to Chicago for a week (duh Katie is there and I missed her) and had a whirlwind of a week. During a week full of craziness I was ecstatic to be invited to a cook out at my aunts house. One full day of relaxation and Christopher being exhausted by his best friends and cousins. I have to say that it did really make me miss everyone even more when I came back but at least a cute outfit came out of it. I had packed for a week of lounging and a few nice outfits for the bachelorette and freaked out when 3 days before going home I ran out of cute things to wear. Its especially disappointing because I have a great closet full of clothes hanging in Dallas, until I found a gem that has been my go to since college. The American … [Read more...]
