Fall is here and that means sweater season! I absolutely love sweaters. Fun Fact: My entire closest rack actually broke once because I had too many heavy sweaters. Oops! The only thing I love more than a sweater is a turtle neck sweater. Its perfect for work and I can hide in it all afternoon when I want to be napping. Katie actually asked me what to do with a sleeveless turtleneck in the winter because "is it weird to have a high neck but no sleeves" and my answer is absolutely not. Its actually perfect for my office because the tempurature varies day to day. It also translates perfectly to casual days out with the amazingly comfy Toms I paired it with! Rehearsal Dinner Dress
I can't believe it's been three whole weeks since my rehearsal dinner! My mother-in-law threw an amazing party at the St. Louis Botanical Gardens for the big night. Her theme was "Cuba" since her side of the family is originally from the island. It was your typical hot and humid St. Louis summer night, but we all kept cool sipping on mojitos and rum and cokes! I spent weeks searching for the perfect rehearsal dinner dress, and I think I found it! The church we got married in (and had our rehearsal in) has strict modesty rules, so no spaghetti straps here! I loved the illusion neck top of this Adrianna Papell dress. It checked the modesty box the church required, and was also super cute! I paired the dress with my Steve Madden heels and my mom's nude Chanel bag. Italian Honeymoon – Part 1
I can't believe my two week Italian honeymoon is over!! It flew by! Before I knew it I was back at work staring at excel spreadsheets *tear. So I thought, what better way to relive it than by telling you guys all about it?! Lake Como - Bellagio Dave and I began our Italian adventures on Lake Como in Bellagio. Something I didn't really realize until I was doing research for our honeymoon is that Lake Como is pretty big, and there are quite a few towns to choose from when picking your hotel location. Lake Como is shaped like a pair of pants, and the town of Como is at the bottom of the left pant-leg. If you are taking a train into the area, like we did, then this is probably where you will be coming in to. From Como, Dave and I took a ferry to Bellagio (basically the crotch of the pants). We chose to stay in Bellagio because of the incredible views. Bellagio is where the lake splits, so the scenery is breathtaking. Where we … [Read more...]
Just a Slight Slit
I am lucky enough to have a mother and mother in law with great eyes for fashion. I was a little hesitant to buy this extremely high slit dress, but they both talked me into it, and good thing because I've already work it three times (because on High Heel Hydrangeas we re wear our clothes ;) ). Its one of my go to guest of the wedding dresses. I try to pair it with gunmetal accessories to match the belt and black shoes. The most difficult part of wearing it is sitting, but since I like to dance at weddings I avoid that anyways. Who wore it better? Just kidding, I'm not a 6 foot model. I chose to wear it without the belt once and with the belt once (but I only have a photo with my handsome hubby so he's making a cameo). One of the best thing about this dress is the stretch. There's about a 10 pound difference in my weight between the belted photo and non belted photos. I was still losing the baby weight and so excited that this dress looks great even with the … [Read more...]
