I think the best way to wear all black is with a pop. I usually add a pop of color in my purse or a scarf but I also think it’s the perfect way to do leopard tastefully. Adding a small bit of leopard pattern to a monochrome outfit makes the leopard pop and the outfit a little bit more fun. I opted for all black, which I don’t think comes as a surprise. My oversized comfy sweater goes perfectly with the paired down look I’m going for. I don’t typically do flats because I’m only 5’3” and I think I need the heels to elongate my curves but for some reason I was feeling them today, so I’m going with it! I like to think it’s because I found the perfect pair of flats for my taste. My problems with flats are:
- I’m short and curvy, so I need height to make me look thinner. I fixed this with tight jeans and a sweater that accents my thinner collarbone.
- I think my feet look enormous in flats. I wear a 7.5 which is average but for some reason every pair of flats I try on makes me feel like I’m wearing pointy toed witch shoes. These have a curved toe that help me feel a little daintier.
- They are not comfortable. I can’t tell you how many times a person sees my heels and says ‘I don’t know how you can walk in those’. That is my exact response to a person wearing flats. They rub in all the wrong places and I end up with blisters for weeks. Luckily these are very comfortable. My other solution to this problem is to wear them around the house with 2 pairs of socks before venturing out. It stretches them out and hopefully means no pain.
I am going to continue to try to find flats that meet my picky criteria and welcome any suggestions!
