The Rules of Hair Care

In the words of Elle Woods. It is extremely important going into the summer months to take care of your hair. I love to take risks and make changes with mine. I have had bangs, bobs and blonde in the past 4 years and am now just getting back to the basics with a long style. Regardless of what you do with your hair moisturizing and takings great care of it makes it look fabulous. Here are my tips and tricks.

1. WASH YOUR HAIR with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner. I use Moroccanoil, but there are millions of products that offer damage repair and moisturizing. Let the conditioner sit for 5 minutes.

2. NOT THAT OFTEN. Lets be real – no one has time to wash and style every day, and its not good for your hair. My curly hair looks like Beyonce after I’m done blow drying (let me have this one thing in common with Beyonce please).  I only wash mine once a week, but find what works for you!

3. HAIR OIL. Even oily hair needs love at the ends. I live by the Sachajuan Hair Oil my fabulous, beautiful, amazing hair dresser Krysta gave me. Christopher and I share a bottle and use it on our ends daily. Yes I put oil in my child’s hair. Yes it makes it look better. No not all kids are just naturally adorable. It takes a village people.  Here are my go to basics. And if you haven’t yet, check out my girl Krysta! https://basesalonchicago.com/
